Stool, Back - Painted In designing this piece, I wanted the proportions to be heavier than the ones I’d done previously; my visit to the V&A and the Museum of London showed 16th and 17th turned furniture to be more substantial than I’ve done so far.

Stool, Medieval Wooden Plans for a period stool that folds up. You make this stool from a six foot length of 1” x 10” lumber (actually 3/4” x 9-1/2” when milled for you) of your favorite flavor. The width isn’t terribly critical.

Dovetailed Step Stool (PDF) Here is a project that is sure to advance your skills while producing a practical, good-looking piece of furniture. When the joints fit tight, the mechanical interlocking alone is enough to make them rigid.

Stool, Ergonomic Ergonomic stools provide the combined benefit of being both good for your back and being a convenient spare due to the fact that you can fold them up when they are not in use. The stool is surprisingly easy to construct: there are no complicated joints to make and no special tools required.
