Saw, Frame Here is a pretty simple frame saw I made using a 24 inch section of bandsaw blade tensioned across arms and stretchers made of hard maple. A frame saw can be used to resaw thick boards, or to rip wide boards. It is much more efficient than a hand saw in these applications due to its narrow kerf. The blade should be under high tension, and should emit a high-pitched ping when plucked. Here is a rough outline of how I made mine.

Screwdriver, 4 in 1 (PDF) It is easy to crank out these screwdrivers in any shape or size. They make great gifts. All you need is a chunk of your favorite wood, a drill chuck for your lathe is headstock and a $5 to $7 hardware kit that contains two double-ended bits. This is a terrific project for a larger mini-lathe and takes less than an hour to complete.

Scrollsaw Auxiliary Table ...I made a smooth-sliding auxiliary top out of a piece of Plexiglass...The Plexiglas is the same size as the saw table and has a hole only a bit larger than the blade to provide more workpiece support. I attached it with spray adhesive.

Scrollsaw Blade Holder I use my scroll saw quite a bit, and I go through a lot of blades. So I came up with this convenient way of storing my blades while still keeping them close at hand. Now I do not have to get up every time I need a new blade.

Set up Gauge for Measuring This is a link to a Google 3D SketchUp drawing for a set-up gauge for measuring height. You will need the SketchUp software to download this drawing and its freely available online. We do not provide support for this software. Not all drawings have the measurements displayed but you can use the measurement tool in SketchUp to easily and accurately determine the dimensions of each lumber part. Most drawings do not have instructions, its assumed you can build it based on the completed drawing provided.

Sheet Goods Mover Few shop chores rival the awkwardness of moving large sheet goods by yourself. And it is nigh on impossible to get them up on sawhorses without help (or the horses skittering across the floor). You will never again have to cajole reluctant family members into helping if you use this system.

Shelf, Band Saw When working with small pieces at my band saw, there was not a handy place to set them aside. So I mounted a plywood shelf to the arm of the saw.
