Planer Sled With the cost of lumber, I am not crazy about throwing out short scrap pieces of wood. But planing short pieces (less than 12 inches long) in not recommended by most manufacturers. That is because the pieces can get caught between the feed rollers and chewed up by the blades.

Plywood Carrier One of the more awkward things to handle around the shop is big sheets of plywood. With my bad shoulder it is almost impossible but with this handy device its a breeze. Put the plywood in the notch, pick it up with the handle and balance the top with your other hand. Now that is a lot better than the alternative!

Press for gluing stacked bowl blanks Until recently, I used my drill press to clamp layers of wood together for vases or bowl blanks. Problem is, the drill press is not really designed for this task, and I actually bent the rack gear on a large drill press doing it. After that, I decided there had to be a better and less expensive way.

Rack for Drying Shelves Adjustable shelves can be a pain to finish. Since the top and bottom faces have to be finished separately, they can take twice as long to finish as any other part of a project. But here is a drying rack that lets you hang the shelves vertically so the entire shelf can be finished in one shot. Best of all, it only takes a few minutes to build.
