Building - Bulk Potato Storage with Side Air Plenum This bulk storage, 12 x 36 m (40 x 120 ft) is designed to hold about 1100 tonne of potatoes, at a depth of 4.5 m (15 ft). The same basic structure can also be used for bulk storage of other vegetables such as turnips and carrots, holding smaller amounts at less depth than usual for potatoes. The building is of well-insulated wood frame construction. It has large insulated storage doors at one end. A modern ventilation system, with a fan house and control room, forces air down a side plenum and through the pile of produce by way of lateral ducts laid on the floor.

Building - Calf Nursery, Cold (PDF) This leaflet describes a plan for a cold nursery for calves to about 3 months of age. The 5400 x 7200 mm (18 x 24 ft) building has twelve 1200 x 1800 mm (4 x 6 ft) pens and a centre alley. The nursery is designed as a pole building. The poles are designed to provide total wind resistance, therefore the building can be lengthened in increments of 2400 mm (8 ft) without structural changes.

Building - Calf Nursery, Warm (PDF) This leaflet describes a plan for a fully insulated and fan-ventilated warm nursery for calves to about 3 months of age. The 6000 mm wide x 7500 mm long (20 ft wide x 25 ft long) building can house 12 calves in two rows of individual pens. This should be enough for a 100-cow milking herd, assuming only heifer calves are raised.

Building - Calf Range Shelter (PDF) This plan is for a shelter 3.6 x 4.8 m (12 x 16 ft), suitable for up to 20 calves. Some ranchers may want to reduce this to a 10-calf shelter 2.4 x 3.6 m (8 x 12 ft) so it can be skidded on a flat-bed trailer or truck platform for transportation to remote sites. The height of the roof can be reduced if the owner doesn't mind stooping. The shelter is designed to use inexpensive sheathing plywood or Aspenite for wall and roof covering.
