Clock, Desk The only basic factors for a desk clock are that it must tell the time, and that it must be able to stand on its own base. No one ever said that it must be square, rectangular or any other shape! With this in mind, we present this clock design not as a fait accompli, but rather as a starting point for your own creativity.

Clock, Small So here I was looking at some small clocks in a gift shop nearby, and this young lady notices me measuring one wood item and she asked: “What are you going to do, make one?” “No,” I said, “I think I will make 10 or so.”

Clock, Table Top In this episode of DIY Wood Works, host David Marks builds an elegant table-top clock with a face made from wengae and quilted-maple veneer. The design of this contemporary clock provides some opportunities for working with advanced woodworking techniques -- including creation of wood veneering, use of a vacuum press, and shaping a solid wood block into a faceted top-piece. The straight lines of the finished case, and the symmetry of the sculpted top, are characteristic of the enduring arts-and-crafts style of furniture design. The alternating wedges of quilted maple and wengae create a striking look for the clock face.

Clock, Craftsman A while ago, my wife gave me one of those Craftsman (Sears) clocks, made from a replica 10-inch circular saw blade. Since then, I have been trying to decide the best way to display it. Just hanging it on the wall, as was the original design intent, was an option. Being a woodworker with a shop full of equipment, I felt obligated to explore more creative ideas.
