Aquarium, Plywood I have never built this aquarium, and cannot guarantee that it will work, but someday plan to give it a try. It seems like a good idea and I cannot see any reason why it should not work, and save you some dollars.

Aquarium Stand, DIY Step by step guide to build an aquarium stand. This was my first solo attempt at creating an aquarium stand. In the end it worked out fairly well and I have learned enough that I feel I can tackle a stand for the 135 Gallon tank that we will be purchasing shortly. In total this project cost approximately $85 Canadian for the Stand, Canopy and all the electronics (light fixture and bulbs).

Aquarium Stand For Large Tanks - Fancy Style The stand frame can be built using either 3/4 inch Plywood or MDF. We will be making Lamination Beams by cutting the plywood or MDF to size and laminating them together to make beams that are 1-1/2 inches thick and 2-1/2 or 4 inches wide. This makes a very strong beam that will not warp. The floor, top and all six sides will be wrapped with 3/4 inch MDF. We recommend painting all surfaces, inside and out, with an epoxy paint. This will protect the stand for years.
